I thought it looked like mousse and fudge, and was wondering if you still had never baked. 😅 I did verify though that’s exactly how it’s supposed to look, and it really does look absolutely decadent. Mousse instead of frosting is a brilliant idea. Fantastic work.

Did you include the bourbon brown butter? 🤤

At first I was like “Yeah after 150 hours you will have plenty of experience”, then I looked and have never heard of this type of cake before. Will be attempting soon.

I’m actually foaming at the mouth jealous of you rn 😂

    This looks magazine worthy incredible!!

  9. Hey man, chin up. This time it took you 150 hours but with some practice you may be able to bake a cake in less than 5.

Perfect layers. I need a slice of that

I love when people with no experience go out and do the most extravagant version of that thing. Kudos, I’d eat that.

Congratulations on your first cake! That looks awesome for someone who has never baked a cake before (and even for someone who has). I saw a couple comments from you that the cake was underwhelming for the amount of effort and time you put into it. Just wanted to suggest an alternate recipe for you to try if you decide to make another one: https://www.canadianliving.com/food/baking-and-desserts/recipe/the-ultimate-chocolate-layer-cake

This is a recipe I’ve been using for years out of their cookbook and it is super tasty with a low barrier to entry. I make this for a lot of birthdays and it’s always a hit, though it is definitely rich!

Well now you can check having baked a proper cake off your list. This looks delicious and incredibly rich in a good way.

I could just do with a piece of that to go with my mug of coffee 😋 ☕️
